Oh, to have such lovely hair

So tomorrow is the Eve. It’s difficult for me to process that. Although there’s plenty of snow on the ground, and much more to come, I still don’t feel like I’m ready for all the fuss. The tree is finally decorated. The holiday festivities have been attended. The oodles of sweets have been consumed. The Vince Guaraldi CD is a fixture in my car.

Still, I’m not all that…merry.

Maybe it has something to do with the bug I caught on Monday and am still, annoyingly, suffering through. Being flat on my back for two days straight has kind of taken the wind out of my holiday sails. I’m not a good sick person to begin with (ask Scott — I whine a lot when I’m under the weather). So being sick so close to the holidays ramps it all up a notch, I believe.

So…I’m going to go lie down again for a bit. Then I’ll get to the remaining presents. Hopefully. And we’ll all be ready to jump in the car tomorrow and drive through the coming lake-effect snow to unwrap ’em all again.

Happy holidays to you and yours — and don’t get sick!
