It’s the little things

Every year, one day before the big day, my client does something oh, so generous. Today was the day. They free up the pop machines so you can just push a button, without putting in any money, and get a freebie. (Yes, I said “pop”…I’m from Michigan and that’s what we call it here.) It’s usually $1.25 for a 20-ounce drink. Yet it feels so wonderful to get one for free. Boy, I’m a cheap date.

And the other little thing that made my day? When my son grabbed my fingers and took me for “wok.” It took me a moment to figure out that we were going for a walk. So sweet. So spontaneous. So stuck in my memory for the rest of my life.
