Dining at Jake & Telly’s: Colorado Springs

Luckily my companions on my recent Colorado trip were like-minded when it came to dining. I absolutely hate eating at chain restaurants when on the road. (I hate them at home, too, but that’s another story.) We vowed to avoid Chili’s, Applebee’s and the like. Even the Hungry Farmer restaurant across the street from our hotel didn’t make the cut. Instead, we settled on a charming Greek restaurant in Old Colorado City.

Jake and Telly’s was up a flight of stairs, overlooking the town. The food was great. Pictured above you can see the corner of my Pan Fried Eggplant and a partial view of Dan’s Pastitsio. (Oh, and the excellent Greek wine that I asked the waitress to choose for me, but the name of which I can’t remember.) The ambience was nice. And because it was a Tuesday night and there wasn’t much traffic, we bonded with our waitress, Blair, even getting her to pose for a picture. Telly, the chef and co-owner, also came out and chatted with us.

If you’re ever in the Colorado Springs area, be sure to stop in. You won’t regret it!
