I got a Nikon camera…

…I love to take a photograph

Seems everyone on the web’s been sporting the new Canon 300D. I’m more than happy to march to the beat of a slightly different drummer with my D70. Honestly, I had an N-65 and two great lenses before I went digital, so the choice was pretty clear when it came time to purchase. Still, I’m ecstatic about this darn camera. I’ve had it for two months now and I’ve taken about 900 photos. I haven’t found a thing about it not to like yet. Hopefully I never will.

  1. Ooops…should have been comparing apples to apples when I posted that. No disrespect intended. I was just noticing that, of digital SLR users, there seemed to be a big skew toward the Canon. 🙂

  2. Hi Lori, Your photos almost made me leap for a D70 too. But a friend pointed out that I already have several CF cards and a Canon lens to begin with plus some experience with my husband’s Rebel film camera. So considering the reviews of the 300D and D70 were about the same, I chose the Rebel. It took me quite some time to come to this conclusion though because I’m not as much of a shutterbug as I used to be!

  3. Hi Lori, I need to add to my previous comment that I know I should have gotten the D70 when I read this conclusion at dpreview.com – “…a camera which is a significant step ahead of the EOS 300D in terms of build quality and feature set and a match, and in some instances better from an image quality point of view.” But I’m too cheap to switch to SD cards!

Thanks for the tip re: San Francisco. IÂ’ve been there a few times but never stayed in the city. We just might stay at FishermanÂ’s Wharf!

  4. Marie, I don’t think I could ever tell the difference between the two cameras myself. Heather Champ’s photos with her 300D look a lot better than the one’s that I take with my D70, that’s for sure!

Be sure to post photos of your SF trip…it’s such a beautiful city!

  5. Add me to the list of Nikon fans, I don’t think I could ever use another brand!
