Patchouli smells different to different people. To my mom, it smells like worms. To my husband, it smells like dirt. It is a very earthy smell, and it depends on the brand you buy, sometimes it’s earthy sweet and sometimes it smells bitter. And then there’s Patchouli musk, which smells like earthy sweet Christmas smell. It used to be really popular with neo-hippies, and now I’ve noticed that it is very prevalent in lesbian circles!
I had the purse hanging on a hook on the back of my bedroom door. My husband kept sniffing and asking why he smelled tea. So it kind of does have that earthy, musky smell.
