I'm a bit obsessed with this tree.
Something about the thousands of delicate white blossoms makes me happy. And the fact that the tree stands gloriously in our front yard ensures that I can see those blossoms every time I gaze out the living room window and every time I pull into the driveway.
The downside is that the flowering only lasts about five days during the first week of May each year. So the thrill exists for such a short time before the petals flutter down into the grass.
I'd do anything to keep those blooms hanging on a bit longer. I wouldn't be greedy. Maybe just the entire month of May. Because this year May has been fairly crappy for me moodwise. And maybe if I had those lovely flowers to gaze upon, things would seem a bit brighter.

That one line....brought tears to my eyes. Sweet tears. It is truly a gift to be a mother. Especially to special little boys who tug at our heart strings for life.
